Margo Board Book Project

The Margo board book kit is a fun and easy project.
For "The Martini Recipe Book", I used one Margo Board Book and an assortment of tags from the Tag Pads.
All are available on the Neat Stuff Web page.
This is a perfect project for any type of short recipes, family stories and favorite quotes!! Add photos, receipts and notes for a vacation book.

step 1: glue additional papers as desired to the pages

Step 2: make the pockets for the tags
cut two pieces of paper, one measuring 6" by 1 1/2" and another approximately 4" by 1".
the top edge of each of these can be cut with a decorative scissors to add ornamental edge

center the larger strip over a tag as a guide and fold edges so that the strips overlap slightly in the back. I like to leave about a 1/4" on each side of the tag, making the pocket slightly larger so I can slip more than one tag in the pocket. Glue down the overlap edge down.

Fold the smaller strip in half lengthwise and center over the bottom of the pocket strip just made

glue this smaller strip over the bottom of the larger one, adhering to the front and back - this will close the bottom and add a decorative strip to the pocket
(I like to use the tape runner adhesive but glue sticks or your favorite adhesive can be used)
Trim edges flush with larger strip

make pockets for each of the pages. I like to use a mix of papers, making each pocket different.
adhere pocket to the bottom edge of the board book

continue to embellish the book with all the goodies included in this kit, add rub on transfers and all sorts of other neat things.

How I print the tags (this may not work with all printers and could jam your printer)
Print the recipe on a regular sheet of paper using your computer and printer.
Center the tag over the printed paper, aligning where the tag over the printed area.
Try holding up to a light or window to help see where the printed area is.
Then tape the tag to the printed paper and put the paper with the tag on it in the printer tray and print again.
Carefully remove the taped tag from the paper.

Again, this may not work will all printers and could cause the printer to jam.
